Dock Box is a contemporary waterfront residence that reduces architecture to its purest form: the box. Set along the edge of the bay and marshland, the home presents as a set of stacked, interlocking volumes that amplify the drama of their setting. Deep cutouts carve porches into the cubic form, framing expansive views of the horizon while blurring the line between interior and exterior.
Vertical slats and planar siding create a rhythm of light and shadow, softening the mass while reinforcing the home’s linear character. Inside, the geometry continues with a central stair screened by slender wood fins, while a spiral stair on the deck acts as a sculptural counterpoint to the rectilinear shell.
